Hi! I’m Hannah, founder of the Faraway Learning Academy. I’ve been a teacher in Public Education for over 10 years, supporting students from Kindy- Year 9. Teaching, and making sure all students I reach feel safe and find a love of learning is my passion. I’ve worked in three different schools throughout my career, with my latest venture bringing me back to to ‘the big smoke’ of Perth to support a range of students who need support with connecting back to mainstream education. When I’m not teaching, you’ll find me walking my Cavoodle, Zoe, at a local cafe/restaurant with friends and pulling on my socks for a reformer Pilates class.

The idea of the Faraway Learning Academy was inspired by my current teaching role, where I get to meet a diverse range students and their families from all over WA. As a country person myself, I know that access to services is not always as accessible as within the City. Therefore, I saw an opportunity to deliver quality education support remotely, with the ability for students to have 1-1 or small group sessions depending on their preferred learning style.

What this business offers

Online tutoring support, including students who are both in mainstream or homeschooled education. This can look like: Small groups (up to 4 students per session)- A supportive space for children to learn alongside others, build confidence and stay engaged while still receiving individual attention. 1-1 sessions- personalised support tailored to your child’s goals, helping them strengthen their skills in a calm, focused environment. Homeschooling support- Feeling unsure where to start? I work with families to create clear, structured plans aligned to the curriculum. The ability to book ‘packages’ of sessions instead of committing to a term of tutoring, because life happens and sometimes you need to be flexible!
